MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN

Mu Kanazaki scored the goal that gave Nagoya Grampus the 1-0 away win at Urawa Reds last weekend. For me the star was Mateus, who ran, and worked hard all over the field and also created the goal. That's now four wins and four losses on alternate matchdays for a slightly faltering Nagoya Grampus who have only failed to score in one of those eight games, but only have 12 goals in total scored there. Meanwhile they have also conceded 12 in a very 50-50 eight game stretch. The good news for them is that they remain just eight points behind 2nd-placed FC Tokyo but have three games in hand, and are just six points behind today's visitors.

Cerezo Osaka went down 3-1 at home to Kawasaki Frontale last weekend, with their only goal coming from the head of Hiroaki Okuno. They held their visitors well, but eventually conceded two quick goals after equalising to go down. They have now lost three of their last four games and conceded nine goals. The cracks are beginning to show under pressure, perhaps. Today up against the team one space below them., they will again be under that pressure.

Cerezo Osaka look tired, and have lost confidence, especially in defence. A Nagoya Grampus that has won its last three home games should continue that run with a home win here.

HEAD TO HEAD

In the league matches between these two teams last season each team won their home game, while earlier this season Nagoya Grampus won 2-0 in Osaka.
